Peace Lutheran Church, located at 231 Harry Sauner Road in Hillsboro, has announced the following upcoming summer events.

Weenie Wednesday, which has been ongoing for more than 10 years, will continue. A free meal for everyone will be offered after the free movie at Star Cinemas on Wednesdays beginning June 7.

The annual church rummage sale will be held Friday, June 16 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The proceeds from the sale will be divided among four local charities.

A combined church service will be held July 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 502 Pearl St., Lynchburg. The service will have a guest preacher, Rev. John Hitzeroth.

A new activity is planned for Sunday, July 23 starting at 3 p.m. on the church property. It is “Fun in the Son,” which will include games like disc golf, corn hole and a fish pond for the kids. Ice cream and cookies will be served with drinks. A vesper service will be held at Peace in the Woods on the south side of the church parking lot in the evening. Please bring folding chairs and bug and sun protection. In case of rain, the activities will be held inside.

All are welcome to join Peace Lutheran as they give thanks for the beauty of nature and play, gifts from the Heavenly Father.
