Paul J. Turner

Paul J. Turner, 85, of the Elmville community, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Paul was born Aug. 28, 1937 in Highland County, the son of the late Floyd and Effie (Case) Turner.

Paul was a member of the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union; served on the Brush Creek Fire Department; was a lifelong farmer; and retired after 33 years driving a school bus for the Ohio Valley School District.

Paul is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Michael) Sandlin of Elmville; son, Eddie (Suzanne) Turner of Elmville; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Will) Downey of Sinking Spring, Taylor (Shane) Ott of Blanchester and Brooke (Ethan) Cadwallader of Hillsboro; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Stephens, Molly Stephens, Kinsley Ott and Colton Cadwallader; three sisters, Jean Turner of Peebles, Ruth Williams of Hillsboro and Mary Barker of Pike County; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Turner, on May 23, 2023; grandson, Jared Sandlin; two brothers, Charles and Dick Turner; and one sister, Dorothy Myers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Rev. Mike Sandlin and Revs. David and Jane Faulk will officiate services, with burial to follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

The family requests memorial donations to the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union.
