William W. "Bill" Peterson

William W. "Bill" Peterson, 77, of New Vienna, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. 

He was born Nov. 25, 1947 in Cleveland, the son of the late Lewis Erwin and Vivian Mae (Neff) Peterson.  

On Aug. 8, 1970 in Tampa, Fla., he married Dottie (Fabry) Peterson, who survives.
 
A Vietnam War-era U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Bill retired  as an aircraft mechanic and an instructor at Airborne Express after over 20 years of service.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his daughter, Wendy (Seth) McFarland, Brevard, N.C.; two sons, Kenneth Peterson of Columbus and David (Tara) Peterson of Jacksonville, N.C.; grandchildren, Aiden McFarland, Gage Peterson, Josh McFarland and Matthew McFarland; and two sisters, Linda Kamp of Ashland and Carol (Dean) Mahaffey of Creston, N.C.

Pending services will be held at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, 3365 U.S. 50, Fayetteville, with Pastors Darryl Roundtree and John Wright officiating at a later date in the spring. 

The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home has been entrusted with helping the family.  

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville.
