William A. Keech, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at Highland District Hospital.
He was born Oct. 8, 1945 in Springfield, the son of the late Arnold and Alice (Surber) Keech.
He was a former police officer for the City of Hillsboro for 27 years, and he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion Post 14 and VFW Post 9094.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Meldick) Keech, whom he married Oct. 23, 1964; three sons, William (Diane) Keech of Buford and Duane (Linda) Keech and Todd (Rose) Keech, both of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty (Orlando) Rojas of Hillsboro; and one brother, Dick (Darlene) Keech of Sabina.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Keech; and one brother, Jimmy Keech.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Hillsboro with military honors to be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. A celebration of life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the home of Skylar (Jennifer) Keech, 7515 Fairground Rd., Hillsboro.
