William D. “Bill” Pitzer Sr., 78, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 in Louisville, Ky.  
 
He was born May 14, 1942 in Sugartree Ridge, the son of the late George Earl Pitzer and Mabel Virginia Mobley Pitzer.
 
Bill was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and Dalton Masonic Lodge #578 F & AM. He was the owner of Pitzer Plumbing Company in Wilmington and was a well-known master plumber, having worked in Clinton County and the surrounding area for many years. He was also a member of the Ohio Amateur Photography Club and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Bill was a fantastic grandfather and great-grandfather, and his hobbies included photography and traveling.
 
Surviving are his son, William Denver (Marisol) Pitzer, Jr. of Keller, Texas; daughter, Melinda S. (Richard) Pitzer-Davidson of Wilmington; significant friend, M. Teresa Jenkins of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Tinisha (Matt) Wilson and Roberta "Bobi" (Roger) Hile, both of Wilmington, and Diego Pitzer of Keller, Texas; seven great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; four brothers, Tom (Jenny) Pitzer, Wayne (Maryann) Pitzer, Robert (Sue) Pitzer and Gary (Cindy) Pitzer; and a sister, Linda (Lowell) Hile.
 
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Pitzer; great-grandson, Leland Yerian; and brother, Jack Pitzer.
 
Services will be held at Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, 55 Megan Dr., Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Josh Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
 
Friends will be received at the church Monday, March 8, 2021, 5-7 p.m.

The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family with arrangements. 
 
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 863765, Orlando, Fla. 32886.
