Wilbur “Bill” Leroy Hosler Jr.
Wilbur “Bill” Leroy Hosler Jr., 85, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Bill was born Oct. 26, 1939 in Wood County, the son of the late Wilbur L. Hosler Sr. and Inez (Smith) Hosler.
Bill was a minister and evangelist for the Pentecostal Church of God in California. Bill started his working career managing a gas station in North Baltimore, then he earned a job stripping and waxing floors at Bowling Green State University. For the next 22 years, Bill worked as a manager at Findley Oil Company and retired after working 22 years as a manager of Superior Building Services that was subcontracted by the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in Findley. Bill was a man of many passions, but none shone brighter than his love for cooking and the joy he derived from spending time with his family. These hobbies provided not only pleasure to Bill but also brought immense joy and warmth to those around him. His culinary creations were a symbol of his love, served to those he cherished, and his home was always filled with laughter and lively conversation. Bill's enduring legacy will be his overwhelming kindness. He was always there for those in need, offering a helping hand and comforting words. His generous spirit led him to devote countless hours to volunteer work, helping those less fortunate. His actions spoke volumes about who he was at his core - a man whose heart was as large as his smile. While the family mourns his loss, they also celebrate the rich, full life Bill led. They remember his love, his kindness and his generous spirit. For everyone whose lives were touched by Bill, he leaves behind a priceless legacy of love and kindness. His memory will forever remain in their hearts.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bertha Hosler, whom he married on June 5, 1959; one daughter, Deborah (Don) Leonard of Leesburg; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea Sue Barfell, in 2020; and a sister, Christina Huff.
