Viola Mills Daugherty, 97, of the Mowrystown community, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 at Forest Hills Care Center in Cincinnati.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924 in Brown County, the daughter of the late James and Violet Vera Woodruff Mills.
Viola was a member of Mowrystown Church of Christ and a class of 1943 graduate of Whiteoak High School.
Surviving are her five children, Rick (Wanda) Daugherty, Jerry (Jenny) Daugherty, Kendra (Tom Jacobson) Daugherty, Randy (Gwene) Daugherty and Breva (Jack) Tibbs; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Brooks Daugherty, who passed away Oct. 6, 2009; and a sister, Berneda Mills.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022 at noon at Mowrystown Church of Christ, 28 W. Main St., Mowrystown, with Pastor Chris Gobin officiating. Interment will follow in the Confidence Cemetery, Georgetown.
Friends will be received at the church Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
