Vernon M. “Mack” Johnson

Vernon M. “Mack” Johnson, 77, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Signature Health Care of Chillicothe. 

He was born March 1, 1947 in Ross County, a son of the late William Jr. and Mary Lewis Johnson.  
 
Mack was a member of the last graduating class of Frankfort High School in 1965. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. Mack had attended the Fruithill Church of Christ in Christian Union. He retired from the Mead Paper Co., where he was a boilermaker. 
 
He is survived by his daughter, Kerri (Michael) Winks of Huachuca City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Wanda Johnson of Frankfort and Judy Eyre of Chillicothe.  

He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Johnson; and his brother, Roger Johnson. 
 
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. in the Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville, with Pastor Paul Winks officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside. Calling hours will be held on Thursday at the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Those wishing to sign Mack’s online register may do so at www.ebrightfuneralhome.com.
