Velma Flint, 91, of Wilmington, passed away June 12, 2022 at Harmony Nursing Home in Xenia.
She was born May 17, 1931 in Clinton County, the daughter of the late Arthur Nelson Gibson Sr. and Goldie Marie Smith Gibson.
Velma was fortunate to be able to raise three generations of Flint and Gibson families. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, canning, baking and cooking for everyone and taking care of her husband for 62 years. She was a longtime member of Sharon United Methodist Church, which she attended with her best friend and sister, Mary.
Surviving are her son, Mark Steven Flint of Wilmington; son, Jon Arthur Flint; son-in-law, Bob Macke; grandchild, Shannon (Travis) Stockwell; grandchild, Cindy (Dave) Young; grandchild, Mark Shane (Courtney) Flint; grandchild, Mindy (Luke) Snider; great-grandchild, Hailey (Nate McCabe) Appleman; great-grandchild, Trevin Stockwell; great-grandchild, Ryleigh Stockwell; great-grandchild, Emmy Stockwell; great-grandchild, Brady Young; bonus great-granddaughter, Paige (Adam) McCoy; bonus great-granddaughter, Mikayla Burke; and great-great-grandson, Ethan Robert William McCabe.
In addition to her parents,Velma was preceded in death by her husband, John Flint; siblings, Arthur (Lena) Gibson Jr., Donald (Myrtle) Gibson, Frank (Dolly) Gibson, Mary (John) Botts and Joseph (Darlene) Gibson; daughter, Rosemary Macke; daughter-in-law, Billie Flint; and two pet dogs, Daisy and Blackie.
Services will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek.
Friends will be received Friday, June 17, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington.
