Theresa Marie Staten

Theresa Marie Staten, 59 of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 at the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. 

She was born Dec. 19, 1965 in South Bend, Ind., a daughter of Gregory H. and Ann Marie Hays Hadley. 

Theresa was a 1984 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. She received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She was a Clinical Nurse Practitioner specializing in geriatrics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenfield and was a member of the Greater Scioto Valley Emmaus. Theresa also held memberships in several Professional Nursing Associations.

Theresa married Rusty A. Staten on April 23, 1987.   She is survived by her husband, Rusty; her mother, Ann Marie Hadley Gunderman of Greenfield; one daughter, Elicia Staten Taylor of Washington C.H.; one son, Terry A. Staten of Dayton; three grandchildren, Kyla, Maggie and Rylan; her brother, Jeff Hadley of Mount Orab; her father-in-law, Terry Staten of Wellston; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Staten; her father, Gregory H. Hadley; and her mother-in-law, Charlotte Staten. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield with Pastor Chris Stokes officiating. Following the service, Theresa will be laid to rest beside her daughter, Liz, in Greenfield Cemetery. 

Family and friends may visit with her family at the church on Thursday from noon-2 p.m. Following the service, a time of fellowship and food will be held at the church’s fellowship hall. 

The Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to Elizabeth’s Hope Women’s Center, P.O. Box 262, Chillicothe 45601.
