Shirley J. Collier, 90, of Hillsboro died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at Highland District Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1924 in Hamlin, W.Va., the daughter of the late Nicholas C. and Mary Frances Turley Roberts.

Mrs. Collier had retired from the RobertShaw Company in Hillsboro after many years of service. She was a member of the Order Easter Star Chapter #441, the Yellow Rockers, Silver Squares and the Lake Waynoka Waves square dancers.

She is survived by two children, Connie Collier King of Kettering and Albert A. “Tony” (Cheryl) Collier of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Mark (Jane Horne) Collier, Ryan (Jennifer) Collier, Stacey Graeser, Steve King, Krista Kerr and Kathy (Ron) Sorrell; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rita Smith of Hillsboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan “Slim” Collier; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service that will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5 at the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
