Sarah L. Mitchell, 78, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
 
She was born Nov. 15, 1937 in Orangeburg, S.C., the daughter of the late Laurie Jamison and Eloise Archie Jamison.
 
She was a member of Wilmington United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
 
She is survived by her son, Michael C. (Angela) Mitchell of Bowie, Md.; daughter, Angela D. Mitchell-Koster of Wilmington; son, Kenneth A. Mitchell of Nashville; four grandchildren, Vania Parrish, Brittany (Sammy) Groves, Jordan Mitchell and Evan Mitchell; three great-grandchildren, Kara Groves, Nikolas Wooten and Demetri Groves; and several nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Webster Mitchell Jr.
 
Services will be held 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Wilmington United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton.
 
Friends will be received Thursday, 10-11:15 a.m. at the church.
