Sara Emma Farmer, 77, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman.
She was born Oct. 12, 1939 near Harwood, the daughter of the late George and Frances Dean Griffith.
Mrs. Farmer had retired as an Administrative Secretary for the Clinton Memorial Hospital after many years of service. She was a member of the Pricetown Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Jenny (Glenn) Cromer of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Brandi (Andrew) Holbrook, Shelby (Everett) Morgan, Sydney Cromer, and Jeremiah and Katie Farmer; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Morgan; one sister, Bonnie (Melvin) Nicholas of Wilmington; and one brother, Franklin D. Griffith of Lynchburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Farmer Sr. on Sept. 20, 2007; one daughter, Denny Sue Farmer; one son, Daniel H. “Butch” Farmer Jr.; one sister, Betty Barber; and three brothers, Elon, Richard and Tony Griffith.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 at the Davis Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home.
