Russel W. Burchett, Sr., 63, of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
He was born in Sinking Spring on Sept. 27, 1953, the son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Thompson) Burchett.
Russel owned and operated Highland Excavating.
Russel is survived by his wife, Kitty (Oppy) Burchett; two sons, Mickey (Missy Clark) Waters of Hillsboro and Russel W. "Burchie" Burchett, II of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mistey (Brandon Vance) Burchett of Hillsboro and Rachel (Jamie) Reed of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson, Logan (Taylor) Burchett and their son Oliver, Stormi Waters, Raini Waters, Jake Minter, Baylee Carey, Emma Williams, Evon Williams, Easton Williams, Emrie Reed and Ella Reed; three brothers, Orva Gragg of Hillsboro, Milton Gragg of Hillsboro and Rodney Burchett of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mary Williams of Hillsboro, Edith Urban of Texas and Helen Van Lieu of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Burchett; and one granddaughter, Nikki Burchett.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Greater Life Assembly, 12145 North Shore Drive, Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Spring. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Greater Life Assembly.
