Ruby Jewell Maras, 88, of Hopkinsville, Ky., died Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A native of Birmingham, Ala., she was born July 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Melvin Chapman and Nettie Bell Eaton Nicholson.
She was a waitress at Charlie’s Steakhouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo T. Maras, who died in 1992.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Dewayne (Carol) Tidmore of Tallassee, Ala., Thomas L. (Dorothy) Tidmore of Hillsboro, Leo “Mike” Maras of Hopkinsville and Theodore “Tony” Maras of Hopkinsville; her daughters, Patricia (Thomas E.) Maras Adams of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Kathy (Jeffery) Dunn of Las Vegas, Nev. and Janet (Dickie) Maras Harper of Bowling Green, Ky.; her sister, Joyce (Roby) Terrian of Spartanburg, S.C.; her 15 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; and her three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dale Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.
