Rose Ann Dixon, 94, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born April 29, 1928 in Samantha, the daughter of the late Horace Ruffin and Martha Hazel (Carter) Leaverton.
Rose loved her family dearly, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Surviving are her two daughters, Melinda Garcia and Helen Taylor, both of Wilmington, four grandsons, Shawn (Anna) Beatty, Joseph (Stephanie) Turrentine, Kevin (Christi) Kilmartin and Eric (Corynne) Garcia, nine great-grandchildren, Emma Beatty, Mackenzie Sargent, Callista Preeson, Kyle Kilmartin, Isabella Beatty, Kaitlyn Turrentine, Ethen Turrentine, Cienna Garcia and Hudson McCrary; and a sister, Arlene Lawwill.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brother Butch; and three sisters, Elise, Minnie and Kate.
Rose's wishes were to be cremated and no service to be held.
