Ronald Wayne Rankin passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2020.
“Ronnie” was born March 6, 1963 in Wilmington, to his parents Nancy (née Taylor) Rankin Henderson and Jim Rankin.
He was an excellent drywall professional and had many other amazing talents with which he entertained his family and friends all throughout his life.
He is survived by his father, Jim (Terry) Rankin of Blanchester; his mother, Nancy (Ron) Henderson of Wilmington; his daughters, Julie Mullins and Joy Rankin, both of Somerset, Ky.; five beautiful grandchildren, Landyn, Seanna, Sophie, Rylan and Echo; his brothers, Jim (Lisa) Rankin of Wilmington, Rich Rankin of Louisville, Ky. and Scott (Mysti) Rankin of Inman, S.C.; his step-siblings, Chad (and Christi) Henderson of Somerset, Ky. and Rochelle Henderson of Somerset, Ky.; his friend and mother of his children, Nancy Diamond of Somerset, Ky.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will never forget him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vera and John Taylor, Cleta “Ruth” and Lester Dunn and Harry Rankin; a nephew, Braeden Rankin; a son-in-law, Jason Mullins; and his best friend, Butch.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at the Wilmington Baptist Church, 2872 S US Hwy. 68, with Pastor Jim Rankin officiating. Burial will follow in the Westboro Cemetery, 500 Jonesboro Rd. 45148. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions in Ronnie's memory may be directed to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
