Roger A. 'Allen' Rand

Roger A. “Allen” Rand, 68, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2015 at the Crestwood Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 28, 1947 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Roger and Hortense (Coldiron) Rand.
He was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ and was well-known as an excellent carpenter and will also be remembered as the “bicycle repairman” for the all the kids in the neighborhood.
On Oct. 17, 1970, in Hillsboro, he married Patti (Fulkerson) Rand, and she survives.
He is also survived by two children, Charissa Rand of Oakwood and Mark Rand of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Reagan Rand, Faye Foley, Quentin Manson, Dalton Rand, Zachary Rand and Austin May; two brothers, Greg (Pauline) Rand of Hillsboro and Harry Rand of Chicago; three nieces, Tara Rand Butler, Dominique Tenzee Rand and Aeesha Rand; and a nephew, Gregory (Leah McConnaughey) Rand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shan Allison Rand, on Aug. 18, 2009.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Tom Stoops will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the funeral home.
