Robert Wayne Hamilton

Robert Wayne Hamilton, 83, of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024 at Highland District Hospital of Hillsboro.
 
He was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Greenfield, the son of Harold and Peggy (Lucas) Hamilton.
 
Robert served honorably in the United States Navy.
 
He retired as Chief of Wright Patterson Air Force Base Fire Dept. Station 3 after many years of service. He was a lifelong farmer, and after retiring from the fire department, he started Hamilton Farm Trucking, which he owned and operated for more than 30 years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda (Moore) Hamilton, whom he married May 3, 1964; one daughter, Lisa (Wayne) Cannon of Leesburg; one son, Rob (Lara) Hamilton of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Kurt, Sydney and Samuel Hamilton; one niece, Vanessa Cryder; and one great-nephew, Dalton Cryder.
 
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kristen Cannon; one brother, Oscar “Butch” Hamilton; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Scott Faulconer officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Brenda, very sorry to learn the passing of Bob, The only thing we know him and Charlie will have a good time in heaven, thats a sure thing, again so sorry. Linda
