Robert E. Miller, Jr., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and dogs.
He was born May 5, 1945 in Bucyrus, the son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Constance Regina (Topper) Miller.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a Vietnam War veteran of the United States Army. Robert graduated from the University of Cincinnati and later retired as a computer programmer.
Robert was a devoted and loving husband, father and pappy. He dedicated a lot of his time to the church, including missionary work and volunteering at his daughters’ schools. Robert stated these words: “I was a very blessed man to have been given another family, a beautiful wife and four children by our Father in Heaven.”
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Angela Carol (Cramton) Miller, whom he married May 17, 1991 in Cincinnati; four daughters, Marissa Amy Miller of Cincinnati, Marlyn Andrea Miller and Marlena Erica (Anthony) Chustz, both of Dayton, and Marcy Anne Miller of Hillsboro; a granddaughter, Oakley Camille Miller of Dayton; three siblings, Myra Gertrude Zornes of Bucyrus, James Roy (Dorothy) Miller of South Dakota and Roger Allen (Ruth) Miller of Pataskala; a sister-in-law, Barbara Miller of Attica; a brother-in-law, Alfred (Ann) Cramton of Illinois; and a special uncle and aunt, Ken (Margaret) Harshbarger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and previous wife, Eric Christopher Miller and Barbara (Moore) Miller; and a brother, David Lee Miller.
Burial with military honors will be held at the Dayton National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life will be held by the family and scheduled later this summer.
