Robert E. “Bob” Curtis, 90, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at the Symphony at Centerville in Dayton.
He was born April 5, 1930 in Martinsville, the son of the late Bertsell Curtis and Ruth Roberta Caplinger Curtis.
Bob was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington and Wilmington Kiwanis Club and retired from DP&L after 32 years of service. Bob enjoyed farming, gardening, pontooning on Lake Cumberland and spending winters with Ruth in Vero Beach, Fla. Bob was a true family man and rarely missed one of his children’s or grandchildren’s activities or sporting events.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Curtis of Wilmington, whom he married March 18, 1951; two daughters, Robyn (Dave) Hinman and Debbie (Stan) Pratt, and son, Craig Curtis, all of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Megan (Nick) Murphy, Dr. Ryan (Lucinda) Hinman, Brooke Curtis, Rachel Hinman, Dr. Brittany Curtis, Betsy (J.D.) Brooks and Jordan (Megan) Pratt; 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Clifford (Patricia) Curtis of Wilmington.
Services will be held at Dove Church-Wilmington, 1499 Rombach Ave., Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dave Hinman officiating. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Dove Church, Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
