Robert C. Bennett, 86, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.
He was born Dec. 23, 1931 in Harvey, Ill., the son of the late Samuel Carl Bennett and Mattie Pauline Robbins Bennett.
Robert worked as an office supervisor for Whiting/Swenson with over 48 years of service. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marie C. Bennett of Wilmington, whom he married July 26, 1952; daughter, Bonnie Tyree of Springhill, Fla.; son, Bill (Barb) Bennett of Crown Point, Ind.; daughter, Kathy Bennett of Beecher, Ill.; son, Jeffrey (Judy) Bennett of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Kim, Eric, Nick, Emily, Sandy, Chris, Ryan and Kasey; and three great-grandchildren, Landen, Kenlee and Caroline.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Carl Bennett; mother, Mattie Pauline Robbins Bachmann; and his brother, Leonard Bennett.
Services will be held at a later date. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
