Robert “Bob” Allen Kelch, 68, of Liberty Township, Ohio, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022.

He was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Ralph L. and Norma J. (Schraw) Kelch.

Bob was a 1971 Hillsboro High School graduate. After high school, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University. Bob left Hillsboro in the late 1970s to work in the Mideast as an aircraft maintenance technician supporting Douglas DC8s. Upon his return in the mid-1980s, he joined GE Aircraft Support Engineering. He then traveled the world, supporting airlines in all corners of the globe. Bob was a world traveler who also truly enjoyed water sports. He grew up water-skiing on Rocky Fork Lake, and later became an avid scuba diver and “boat captain.” He loved nothing better than to go out on his boat with his family.

He was an extremely proud father of his two daughters and his three granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by two daughters, Laura J. (Paul) Kelch Miranda of Cincinnati and Emily J. (Robbie) Kelch Bach of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Olivia Sloane Miranda, Evan Margaux Miranda and Adinah Mae Bach; three siblings, Steve Kelch of Hillsboro, Rick (Elaine) Kelch of Hillsboro and Karen Kelch of Cincinnati; his stepmother, Pat Kelch of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.
