Rita Renee Smith, 88, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 at the Crestwood Ridge Nursing Center in Hillsboro.

She was born March 28, 1930 in Hamlin (Lincoln County), W.Va., the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary F. Turley Roberts.  

Mrs. Smith had been a seamstress for the Hercules Trouser Company for 13 years and had also worked for G.C. Murphy Company and the Stuckey Pecan Shop. She was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by two nephews, Tony (Cheryl) Collier of Hillsboro and Homer (Sharon) Bell of Lynchburg; one niece, Connie King of Kettering; eight great-nieces and nephews; eight great-great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew and one great-great-great-niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Smith on April 13, 2009; six brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Lamb will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 8080 S.R 124, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
