Rickie Lee Rutter, 69, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at The Laurels of Norworth in Worthington.
He was born Dec. 1, 1952 in Circleville, the son of Kelson and Joanna (Churchheus) Rutter.
Rickie was a 1971 graduate of Laurelville High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1975.
He enjoyed gardening, listening to country music and playing his guitar. He was a member of the Red Man Lodge Wampus Tribe 81 of South Bloomingville, former member of the New Martinsburg United Methodist Church and loved his family most of all.
He was formerly an Electrical Engineer of Cincinnati Milacron, Cincinnati Machine and then freelanced for Detroit Diesel in Cambridge.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Knisley) Rutter, whom he married Jan. 3, 1976; two daughters, Lorah Monterroso of Atlanta, Ga. and Lisa (Chris) Boyd of Greenfield; one son, Robert (Sarah) Rutter of Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Brody, Deanna, Sidney, Aubrey, Jenna, William and Gracelynn; two sisters, Vickie Johnston (Melvin McNeal) of Circleville and Tonia (Barry) Marshall of Stoutsville; two brothers, Randy (Patty) Rutter of Laurelville and Rodney (Crystal) Rutter of Laurelville; brother-in-law, Donnie Anderson of Rockbridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Rick Miller of Washington C.H.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kelly Rutter and Candy Anderson; two nephews, Brandon Rutter and Danny Johnston; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek Cemetery in Greenfield with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
