Richard Dale Quickle, 88, of Hillsboro, died peacefully Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 8, 1927 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Dana L. and Florence Fraysier Quickle.
Mr. Quickle was a locksmith and worked for 31 years for the Gross Feibel Company in Hillsboro. He later worked for Post Browning Company in Cincinnati for seven years, then worked for the Williamson Safe Company for eight years and just recently retired as a private contractor for banks in the tri-county area. He was a member and trustee of the Fairfax United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Storer Quickle, whom he married on June 26, 1948 in Belfast; two daughters, Pam (Bob) Miller of Hillsboro and Kim (Derick) Kell of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Travis (Alicia) Miller, Shannon (Jason) Roberts, Brittany Gilbert and Tanner Kell; four great-grandchildren, Addison Roberts, Grady Roberts, Parker Miller and Audrey Gilbert; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Quickle and Ludy Storer of St. Mary’s, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Edgar Quickle, Virginia Main, Violet Baker, Harold “Pete” Quickle and Roger Quickle.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Lloyd Shoemaker will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
