Richard D. “Denny” Lovett, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 25, 1943 in Springfield, the son of the late Richard L. and Lois J. (Knisley) Lovett.
Mr. Lovett was a 1962 graduate from the Greeneview High School in Jamestown. He worked for 36 years at the Bob Evans Farms in Xenia as the warehouse manager. He was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ, and he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam War.
Mr. Lovett is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol (Vance) Lovett; two children, Jonathan Scott (Brenda) Lovett of La Vernia, Texas and Cassandra (Casey) Clift of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Magee of Hillsboro, Perry (Shelby) Branham of San Ramon, Calif., Haleigh Lovett of La Vernia, Texas and Cheyenne Clift of Hillsboro; one great-grandchild, Luke Branham; a brother, Donnie (Teresa) Lovett of Xenia, three sisters, Connie (Bill) Lute of Xenia, Brenda (Don) Burton of Jamestown and Linda (Nick) Kostic of Xenia; a sister-in-law, Connie (Darell) Furlong of Wilmington; one uncle; one aunt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Lovett on April 20, 1985.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 27 at the funeral home. Bob Stevens and Troy Roush will be officiating.
Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard, will be in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
