Rebecca “Goldie” Dotson, 86, of Bainbridge passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

She was born Jan. 8, 1928 in Prestonsburg, Ky., the daughter of the late Bart and Della Bailey Manuel.

On Jan. 22, 1946 she married Marlyn E. Dotson, who survives.

Also surviving are six children, Carol (Roger) Strouse of Bainbridge, Beverly (James) Mitchell of Chillicothe, Sandy (Gary) Kaylor of Hillsboro, Marlin Dotson of Bainbridge, Valerie Sever of Chillicothe and Melissa (Norman) Williams of Bainbridge; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Mark Beeler; daughter-in-law, Debbie Dotson; four grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers.

Goldie loved her church and church family and has been a member of Storms Chapel over 65 years. She also loved flowers and gardening.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Storms Chapel with Pastor Sammie Cooper and Rev. Dane Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
