Raymond C. Mootz, 64, of the Hollowtown community, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.
Raymond was born Oct. 8, 1958 in Clinton County, the son of the late John Raymond Mootz and Willa Jean (Kelley) Mootz of the Hollowtown community.
Raymond was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and Farm Bureau. He was a 1977 graduate of Lynchburg High School. While in high school, Raymond was a member of the FFA and continued his passion for agriculture, farming and logging throughout his lifetime.
Besides his mother, Raymond is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rhoads) Mootz; one brother, Robert (Kelly) Mootz of Lynchburg; three sisters, Rita Mootz of Hillsboro, Sandra (Jerry) Berwanger of Sardinia and Glenna (E.J.) Saffell of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides his father, Raymond was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Patty (Cress) Rhoads; niece, Rebecca Berwanger; and nephew, Lee Berwanger.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Brent Spears and Dale Mootz will officiate services with burial to follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
