Raymond A. "Buddy" Wheeling, 72, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
He was born Oct. 21, 1948 in Jamestown, the son of the late Raymond Allen Wheeling, Sr. and Mildred Elizabeth Alexander Wheeling.
He was a member of the Wilmington Assembly of God and was a U.S. Army veteran. After working in the Tool and Die business and construction, Buddy kept busy doing odd jobs and working as a handyman. He especially enjoyed spending time with family, attending church and making crafts.
Surviving are his wife, Linda J. Wheeling, of Wilmington, whom he married July 6, 1974; a son, Jason (Amy) Wheeling of Wilmington; a daughter, Elizabeth (Thomas) Hawk of New Vienna; and a son, Travis Wheeling of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Brooke Michael, William Wheeling, Sean McKeehan and Shayne McKeehan; a great-grandchild, Hailey McKeehan; and two sisters, Donna Penn of Piketon and Alice Gardner of McDermott.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his grandson, Christian Michael; sisters, Jean Huffenberger, Gracie Wheeling, Nancy Taylor, Agnes Wheeling and Virginia Geus; and two brothers, Bill Wheeling and Lee Wheeling.
Services will be held at Wilmington Assembly of God, Tuesday, April 13, at 10 a.m. with Pastor John Wirmel officiating. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church Monday, April 12 from 5-7 p.m.
