Ramona Jane Cowgill, 57 of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018.
She was born on April 11, 1961 in Greenfield, the youngest child of the late Joseph and Ruth (Ross) Cowgill.
Ramona attended Hills & Dales school-age program, Highco Adult Workshop, and Highco Adult Daycare program collectively for over 40 years. She was also highly involved in the Special Olympics and the Ronald McDonald pop-tab collection in support of the Ronald McDonald House. Ramona’s family will forever miss her infectious laugh and loving hugs.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother, Joe (Cheryl) Cowgill; sisters, Retta (John) Short and Roberta (Mitch) Karnes; a brother-in-law, Peter Joseph Kelly II; nieces and nephews, Brittany (Erik) Ackels, Nicole (B.J.) Oberrecht, Brandon Cowgill, Sean (Misty) Short, Katie (Casey) Basford, Ashley Cowgill, P.J. Kelly, Garrett and Derek Karnes; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Brayden and Adalyn Oberrecht, Ella, Brady, and Olivia Ackels, Colton Short, and Emerie, Nora, and Waylon Basford, as well as extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ronda Kelly; her paternal grandparents, Parker and Olive Cowgill; and her maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Ross.
Services will be noon Thursday, Dec. 27 at Fall Creek Friends Church in Hillsboro. Kraig Walker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the church.
