Ralph Philip "R. Phil" Kilgore, 89, of Fincastle, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Drake Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born June 24, 1928 in Pelham, Tenn., the son of the late Roy Francis and Mary Belle Rodgers Kilgore.

Ralph retired from the Gray Company in 1995 after 43 years of service and was a pastor for 35 years. He was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church.

Ralph enjoyed playing his guitar and writing songs. He would play at local events and on the radio. Many would say that he was a great entertainer.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Kilgore, whom he married on Oct. 9, 1998; a daughter, Mary (Tom) Moreland of Enola, Pa., a son, Larry P. Kilgore of Florida; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four step-children; 10 step-grandchildren; four-step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Flora Lee (Doug) Carpenter of Cleves; special nephew, Ronnie Kilgore; special niece, Joyce Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Elvira Walker Kilgore; and four brothers, Johnny, Ed, Larry and Roy Kilgore.

Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 E. Main St. Mowrystown, on Monday, June 11 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kenny Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardinia Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The family would like to thank the Edith Brown Pavilion in Hillsboro, Hospice of Hope, and Vitas Hospice for their wonderful care.
