Ralph L. Weingartner, 91, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Ralph was born Jan. 14, 1931 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Ralph and Drusilla (Copeland) Weingartner.
Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ralph was a life member of the VFW Post #9094, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriner’s.
Ralph was a printer with the H.S. Crocker Co. most of his career, where he met his wife, Laverne, and later worked outdoors in nurseries and the tree and sod business.
Ralph excelled in basketball, track and pole vaulting in high school. He was a great outdoorsman, He loved gardening, bird watching, camping, hunting and fishing.
Ralph is survived by one son, Robbin (Laura) Weingartner of Hillsboro; one daughter, Jennifer (Alan) Stratmann of Hillsboro; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom (Terri) Weingartner of Cincinnati.
Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne (Souder) Weingartner, on April 27, 2015; and one brother, Jerry Weingartner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Pastor John Coyle of the Hillsboro Church of God will officiate.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Arlington Memorial Gardens at Cincinnati.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude.
