Piper Elaine Maines, 9, of Streetsboro, Ohio died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic in Twinsburg, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 9, 2006 in Beckley, W.Va., the daughter of Jeffrey and Ginger Pointer Maines of Streetsboro.

Piper had attended the Campus Elementary School and finished the third grade this year. She would have entered the fourth grade this fall at the Henry Defer Intermediate School.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Scarlett; and two brothers, Xander and Sebastian Maines; all living at home; paternal grandparents, Harley and Patricia Maines; and maternal grandparents, Jack and Elaine Pointer of Hillsboro; and three uncles, Todd (Pam) Pointer of Wilmington, Scott (Paula) Pointer of Hillsboro and Jason Maines of Hillsboro.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18 at the Walnut Hills Church of Christ in Christian Union near Leesburg. The Rev. Roger Newkirk will officiate. Friends may call at the Walnut Hills Church of Christ in Christian Union from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday.

Graveside services for family and friends will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 20 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Piper Elaine Maines Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank Location.
