Phyllis “Gerry” Baker, 88, of South Salem, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 at home.
 
She was born on May 24, 1936, in Columbus, the daughter of Earnest and Wilneda (Starr) Kettell.
 
She was a homemaker. She loved to cook, take care of her grandchildren and work in her garden.
 
She is survived by four daughters, Deana (Tim) Johnson of South Salem, Kathy (Jose) Pena of Greenfield, Lisa (Bob) Murray of Hillsboro and Beverly (Scott) Cottrill of Circleville; three sons, Jerry Baker of South Salem, Frank Baker (Erica Bush) of Chillicothe and Eldon (Deb) Baker of Chillicothe; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Diane Baker of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Baker, on Jan. 18, 2010; two sons, George and Clayton Baker; one daughter, Doris Attwood; one sister, Mary Jane Shumaker; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Sam Mincey officiating. Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
