Peggy A. McClellan, 59, of Hillsboro died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born July 6, 1955 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Howard W. and Mary E. Jackson Kinney.

Ms. McClellan had been a ticket manager for Amtrak Railroad. She was a member of the Wayman’s Chapel AME Church, had served as Hillsboro City Councilwoman and was a 1973 graduate of Hillsboro High School.

She is survived by two children, Keri Ann McClellan and Kenneth Ryan McClellan of Hillsboro; mother and stepfather, Mary and Stanley Cumberland of Hillsboro; and several grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one son, Courtney Howard McClellan; and her father, Howard W. Kinney.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 with services immediately following at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.
