Pauline "Polly" Roberts, 96, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2018 at the Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Seaman.
She was born Oct. 3, 1921 in Seaman, the daughter of the late Harley and Mary (Elmore) Satterfield.
At an early age, Pauline accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined the Methodist Church of Seaman. After marriage, she transferred to the United Methodist Church of Mowrystown. She was also a member of the Hillsboro Senior Center. Polly will be sadly missed by family, friends and a host of piano students, as she taught piano for over 40 years and played the organ and piano at the church for over 60 years.
On June 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Roberts of Mowrystown, who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1982.
To this union, twin daughters were born on Jan. 10, 1944: Teresa Ann Gillespie of the Mowrystown community, and Loretta Kay, who passed away Jan. 11, 1944.
She also leaves to mourn two grandchildren, Mark (Becky) Gillespie of Lake Waynoka and Melanie (Andre') Gillespie of The Netherlands; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander, Allison and Andrew; a son-in-law, Loran Gillespie; niece, Sue Lahner; and a nephew, Philip Satterfield and family.
In addition to her parents and daughter, Polly was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Satterfield, and two sisters-in-law, Betty Satterfield and Catherine Linville.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 East Main Street Mowrystown, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jaime Wirth officiating. Interment will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 4-8 p.m.
