Nancy Ellen Coldren, 89, of West Union, formerly of Wilmington, where she had lived for many years, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at the Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born April 14, 1933 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Neil Vantress & Cleo Anita (Ames) McPherson.
On July 26, 1980 in San Bernadino, Calif., she married Robert James Coldren, who passed away July 8, 2011.
Nancy had worked at grocery stores in California and Ohio. After retirement, she and Robert traveled the U.S. in an RV.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Jolyn Creager of Apple Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Robby Martin, April (James Quinn) Martin and Michael Muto Jr.; six great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Creager; second husband, Robert Johnson; son, Neil Creager; daughter, Anita Ellen Johnson; stepson, James Coldren; grandson, Timothy John Estermyer, Jr.; and her maternal grandparents, Edwin and Stella (Certain) Ames.
No services will be held.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Wilmington, her favorite place, will be her final resting place. Contributions in Nancy's memory may be made to the your local humane society.
