Miriam Elizabeth Burkhart

Miriam Elizabeth Burkhart, 80, of Cincinnati died Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Hospice of Cincinnati East Inpatient Unit in Anderson Township.
She was born March 2, 1936 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose Willenborg Burkhart.
Ms. Burkhart had been a schoolteacher and principal for St. Vivian’s in Finneytown, St. Peter’s in Dayton and Whiteoak Elementary in Sugar Tree Ridge. She was an avid bridge player, loved the Cincinnati Reds and had a passion for reading.
She is survived by her friend, Ellen Duncanson of Cincinnati; one sister, Mary Rose (Tom) Hart of Cincinnati; 22 nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim, Jerry and Dan Burkhart.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Newtown. Father Steve Walter will be the celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
