Michael R. McWilliams, 53, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday night, Sept. 6, 2018 in Hillsboro. 
 
He was born Aug. 7, 1965 in Thibodaux, La., the son of Lenwood McWilliams and Betty Lynn (Treadwell) Petrolia.
 
Michael loved to play the drums. He played at many local events around Hillsboro, including benefits to help raise money for people in need.
 
He is survived by his girlfriend, Tammy Von Holle of Hillsboro; father, Lenwood McWilliams of Aberdeen, Scotland; daughter, Shaylene Evans of Boone County, Ky.; son, Shane McWilliams of Independence, Ky.; and five brothers, Jeff McWilliams and Sam McWilliams, both of Elk City, Okla. and Dean McWilliams, Bradley McWilliams and Kristian McWilliams, all of Aberdeen, Scotland.
 
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lynn (Treadwell) Petrolia; brother, Jason McWilliams; sister, Shannon McWilliams; and maternal grandparents, Sam and Pearl Petrolia.
 
Memorial services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at 6 p.m.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 5-6 p.m.
