Michael James Marler

Michael James Marler, 65, of South Salem, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2024 at home.
 
He was born Dec. 7, 1959 in Hamilton County, the son of Herbert Arnold and Barbara (Hall) Marler.
 
Mike had his associate’s degree in electronics engineering from Southern State Community College and served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed reading and playing golf.
 
He retired from TFO Tech Co. Ltd. of Jeffersonville, where he was a CNC Machinist. After retiring, he went to work for Garman Feed & Supply. He was also A+ Certified Professional IT Technician and a Network Certified Professional.
 
He is survived by his wife, Marla (Beatty) Marler, whom he married Oct. 1, 1985; two sons, Stephen Anthony (Kristina) Fannon, Jr of Barnesville and Joseph Brandon Lytle (Brandy Boyd) of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Clinton Fannon, Jordan Fannon, Jacob Fannon, Jayden Fannon, Averie Lytle and Emily Lytle; two great-grandchildren, Faith and Emma Fannon; one sister, Carol Hill of Cincinnati; three brothers, Kurt (Karen) Marler of Hillsboro, Thom (Darla) Marler of Wilmington and Keith (Desiree) Marler of Mowrystown; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark Marler, Dan Marler and David Marler; and both parents.
 
Cremation will take place, and there will not be a service observed. The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
