Michael E. Coburn, 75, passed away Dec. 15, 2021 of brain cancer.

He was born Oct. 20, 1946 in Martin, Ky., the first of three sons born to Ed and Lola Coburn.

Michael grew up in California, where he met his wife, Alora. They moved to Ohio and raised their family in Columbus. After the kids left home, they relocated to Hillsboro where they drove school buses and were active in the community. He joined Bikers for Christ and the Senior Center, also played Santa all over the city, county and beyond for many years. He also was a member of The Arizona Santa’s and Arizona chapter of Bikers for Christ. They are members of Carpenters House of Prayer on Fairgrounds Road. In 2015, they sold their Haggerty Road home, bought a motorhome and started traveling. Michael loved the life and continued until his death.

Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alora; sons, Michael of Arizona and Robert of Idaho; two daughters, Sara of Dayton and Elizabeth of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Daniel of California and Geoffery Andrew of Indiana; many cousins; and too many friends to mention.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St., Hillsboro with Pastor Kim Zornes officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
