Michael Charles Durbin, 79, of Hillsboro, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 23, 2020 at Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born Nov. 10, 1940 in Independence, Kan., the son of the late Carl Durbin and Roberta Jaqueline Painter.
He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church and had retired from Fort Carson, Colo. after 30 years of civil service.
He is survived by three children, Monica (Bo) Burns and Abel Durbin, both of Hillsboro; and Denise (Curtis) Ossman of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Byrian Burns, Monique Burns, Stanley Burns, Christian Ossman, Tiffany Ossman, Wyatt Durbin and Julia Durbin; two great-grandchildren, Alivia Burns and Eden Burns; and a sister, Carol Blackwell of Porter, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Judith Durbin.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family.
