Melvin 'Jack' Howland
Melvin “Jack” Howland passed away peacefully Aug. 24, 2024 at his home in Hillsboro, surrounded by the memories of a life well lived.
He was born June 10, 1948, in Dayton.
He was a man of few words, but his strength, integrity and unwavering dedication to his family spoke volumes. As the light of his presence dims in this world, the memories of his love and the lessons he imparted will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
In his quiet way, Jack touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially by his beloved children, Steve Howland, Jesse (Charity) Howland, Bobby (Misty) Cowan and Jodi (Ken) Burke; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sandra (Ray) Ross and Lisa Karnes.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Helen (Neff) Howland; wife, Nancy Howland, on July 25, 2020; and two brothers, Gary Howland and Duane Hoover.
On behalf of Jack's wishes, he is to be cremated. May his spirit find peace as his loved ones navigate the journey of grief and remembrance in the days to come.
