Megan Rose Rust, 14, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at her home.

She was born March 31, 2003 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Matthew Jason Rust of Hillsboro and Melissa Anne Lindsey Rust of Hillsboro.

Megan was a freshman student at Hillsboro High School and was a cheerleader.

She is survived by her parents; one sister, Rebecca Rust of Hillsboro; maternal grandmothers, Beverly Lindsey of Winchester and Mary Ellen Lindsey of Columbus; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Lindsey of Georgetown; paternal grandmother, Sharon (Henry) Ostroski of Hillsboro; paternal gGrandfather, Bill (Betty) Rust of Mt. Orab; maternal great-grandmother, Thelma Lindsey of Georgetown; maternal great-grandfather, Bob and Rhoda Hardyman of Sardinia; paternal great-grandparents, Bill and Linda Gornto of Peru, Ind.; seven aunts and uncles, Johanna (Josh) Rollins of Columbus, Janele (Matt) Meeker of Bethel, Elizabeth (Dustin) Lindsey of Eastgate, Lloyd (Danielle) Rust of Anderson, Ind., Shawn (Shonda) Rust of Seaman, Janet Edmondson of Peebles and Casey (Mitch) Kelly of Hillsboro; and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a cousin, Christopher Rollins.

Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Richard Burns will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church, 6360 U.S. 50, Hillsboro.
