Maxine Fern Brose, 80, of Corinth, Miss., formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Feb. 11, 2018 at her home. 

She was born Jan. 14, 1938, the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Raleigh.

She was a member of Foote Street Church of Christ in Corinth.

She was a graduate of Lynchburg High School and Wilmington College. She was a retired elementary school teacher. Maxine and her family moved to Corinth in 1987 to open Brose Autoplex, where she was co-owner with her husband, Marvin. She enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Raleigh; three sisters, Pauline Musekamp, Imogene Barker and Cathleen Rose.

She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Marvin Brose; sons, Greg (Peggy) Brose, Grant (Melanie) Brose; sister, Betty (Greg) Smith of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Brose, Gregory (Betsy), Eric Brose and Graham Brose; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Alice, Adeline, Henrik, Hazel, Kala, Lily, Breanna and Dylan; and a brother-in-law, Luther Spears of Madison, Ala.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15 at Foote Street Church of Christ in Corinth, Miss., with minster Reed Swindle officiating. Burial will follow in the Henry Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the Foote Street Church of Christ.
