Max Evans Taylor, 93, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1928, in Cuba, Ohio, the son of the late Fred Judson and Opal Mae (Insco) Taylor.
He was a 1946 graduate of Wayne Twp. High School and took sales and marketing courses at St. Clair College. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop in Lees Creek for two years and was a past secretary-treasurer of both Wilmington and Hillsboro Lions Clubs. He retired as a dispatcher from the Mecco Inc./BD Morgan Construction Company after 25 years of service. Mr. Taylor was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine “Gina” Taylor; seven children, Lynette (Robert) Wilson of Peebles, Christie Taylor of Paris, Ky., Douglas (Missi) Taylor of Lexington, Ky., Cynthia (Marcus) Boyd of Hillsboro, Jeffrey (Sherri) Taylor of Milford, Bethany Sambo Taylor and Ashley Sambo Taylor, both of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Miriam Grimsley Taylor.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church. Father Michael Paraniuk will be the celebrant. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 1 p.m.
