Maude A. “Peggy” Wombold, 85, of Hillsboro died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Hospice of Hope Inpatient Center in Seaman.

She was born April 20, 1931 in Livingston, Tenn., the daughter of the late Austin and Rasie Lou Qualls Masters.

Mrs. Wombold had retired after 24 years of service from Buckeye Molding in New Vienna.

She is survived by three children, Carolyn (Scott) Wilkin of Hillsboro, Gary (Nancy) Thompson of Wilmington and Larry Thompson of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Kyle (Shawna) Thompson, Angie (Joshua) Stone, Kurstin and Randall Wilkin; and one great-grandchild, Kaylynn Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Shearer and Harry Wombold; two brothers, Victor F. Masters and Willie D. Masters; and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Masters.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1 at the Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 North Valley Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd., Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154 or to the American Heart Association, 5211 Madison Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family. The family would like to thank Rhonda, Peggy’s aide, and Crystal, her nurse, for the loving care given to their mother and also a special thanks to Shirley Cox for her care and friendship throughout Peggy’s illness.
