Mary June Thompson, 84, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Crestwood Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.
She was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Sugar Tree Ridge, the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Mae Wylie Blair.
Mary June had been the office manager for David Ayres, M.D. for many years and was the very first employee to be hired when Highland District Hospital was opened. She was a graduate of Whiteoak High School, a member of the Hillsboro Emblem Club and attended the Fall Creek Friends Church.
She is survived by two children, Steve (Carolyn) Thompson of Dry Ridge, Ky., and Susan (Tom) Bradford of Sardinia; five grandchildren, Meghan (Taylor) Houston, Alex (Kate) Thompson, Holly, John and Lee Royce; one great-grandchild, Wells Houston; and a special friend, Richard Behm of Hillsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis D. Thompson on June 30, 2010; and seven siblings, Thomas, Gail, Carroll, Donald, Wilma and Martha Blair and Esther Stansberry.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mary June’s life to at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at the Fall Creek Friends Church, 11345 Karnes Road, Hillsboro. Pastor Scott Latimer will officiate.
Burial will follow at a later date in the Hillsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fall Creek Friends Church, 11345 Karnes Road, Hillsboro 45133.
