Mary Frances Smith, 90, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Dec. 22, 2020 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Roy and Hazel Halen (Slayton) Hubble.
Mary had worked as a custodian and was a former member of the Wilmington Eagles Club and Wilmington Church of God.
Surviving are her sons, Douglas (Gloria) Smith of Bainbridge and Tom (Teena) Smith of Wilmington; daughters, Helen Waln, Judy Beers and Linda Jones, all of Wilmington; lots of grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Hollie Layton Smith, who died Feb. 16, 1988; daughter, Betty Smith; and son, Luther Smith.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at the Arkoe Cemetery, Chenoweth Fork Road, Piketon, with Pastor Gene Toole officiating. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
